Agricultural Environmental Supervisor

You are a subject matter specialist in agricultural supervision within the Supervision & Enforcement team. You supervise agricultural and intensive livestock farms and translate field observations into policy and working methods.

You possess relevant professional knowledge and experience and have the personal skills to carry out effective supervision and enforcement.

• Completed relevant higher professional education, for example Livestock Farming, Environmental Science, or Process Technology.
• At least 3 years of demonstrable work experience in agricultural environmental supervision.
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations and experience with the National Enforcement Strategy.
• Proactive and curious attitude; you work in a structured, decisive, and stress-resistant manner.
• Good collaboration skills; you do not shy away from conflicts and resolve them decisively and respectfully.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Willingness to continue your professional development and to take additional courses and training.

• Supervising agricultural and intensive livestock farms, including high-risk farms (e.g. IPPC/RIE).
• To serve as a subject-matter agricultural specialist and representative to the sector.
• Assess what you see on location and act accordingly.
• Upon detection of violations: inform the client and draft reports, letters, and advice.
• If necessary, initiate an administrative enforcement process together with legal colleagues.
• Handling complaints and collaborating with chain partners and other (semi-)governmental bodies.
• Providing feedback on practical experience to the organization and contributing to the further development of policies and working methods.
• Participation in on-call duty.

You are part of the Supervision & Enforcement team, consisting of approximately 70 professionals who supervise environmentally harmful activities.

The work is divided into six specializations and focused on risk-based supervision, where quality is more important than quantity.
