Energieopwek publishes new quarterly figures: growth in solar and wind levels off, utilization of renewable power improves

Energieopwek recently published the figures for the second quarter. This quarterly update shows that the growth of solar and wind energy in the Netherlands is leveling off. Fewer new wind turbines are being installed, and the expansion of solar panels is also declining. At the same time, the figures show that sustainably generated electricity is being utilized better than before.

A positive development is that solar panels and wind turbines need to be switched off less frequently. As a result, less sustainable energy is lost, and the number of hours with negative electricity prices decreased significantly compared to the same quarter last year. According to Energieopwek, the share of sustainably generated electricity could even have risen to approximately 70 percent if no generation capacity had been switched off.
