In Vriezenveen, Hydronex is working on Energiehub Twente: a local hub where the production, storage, and use of sustainable energy come together. The permit has been granted for the construction of, among other things, an electrolyzer, battery system, and trailer filling station. With this, Hydronex is taking a major step towards the local production of green hydrogen in Twente!
Supplying green hydrogen
This milestone enables the realization of a 5 MegaWatt (MW) hydrogen plant. With this, we supply green hydrogen directly to the adjacent Fieten Olie hydrogen refueling station. This allows regional industry to further increase the sustainability of its production process.
We produce the hydrogen using renewable energy. The electricity comes from a new floating solar park to be constructed and wind energy. A permit has already been granted for the floating solar park.
Hydrogen production is the next step
The permit is an important step towards the realization of Energiehub Twente. The next phase is the application for the OWE subsidy. This stands for Scaling up fully renewable Hydrogen production via Electrolysis. The goal is to be operational in 2028.
