Content of the training

The part-time Energy and Climate Law module covers the legal, technical, and economic aspects of the energy transition and the rise of the circular economy. You will learn about energy markets, relevant national and international laws and regulations, and the influence of European law. Topics include energy law, climate law, consumer protection, circularity, and the legal aspects of the spatial integration of sustainable energy projects such as hydrogen, biogas, and district heating. Practical assignments such as a Moot Court, an innovative project, and writing a blog post or essay make the acquired knowledge immediately applicable.

Form of the training (program)

The program consists of several modules that combine theory, group assignments, and practical cases. You'll analyze your own project or case, work in groups on an innovative product, and provide advice on legal aspects, such as intellectual property. Interactive assignments like filing a fictitious climate lawsuit and discussions with lecturers will give you a comprehensive understanding of the legal challenges in the energy transition.

Practical information

The module is aimed at professionals working in the energy, climate, and circular economy sectors, or those involved in the development and implementation of energy projects. The program offers in-depth knowledge of relevant legal areas such as environmental law, contract law, procurement law, and consumer law, with the opportunity to directly apply theoretical knowledge in practical assignments. The module concludes with exams, assessments, and written assignments.
