The morning begins with an introduction to microplastics: What are microplastics and where do they come from? What are they made of, and how do we know they're there? We'll discuss how microplastics end up in nature and where they can be created in production processes. Analytical methods are needed to detect the presence of microplastics. There are no standards for this yet, so we'll explore the latest possibilities.
In the afternoon, we'll delve deeper into the latest scientific insights into microplastics and address their toxic effects on humans and the environment. We'll also discuss the removal of microplastics from water and production processes. We'll then provide an overview of (inter)national legislation.
