Content of the training
The Master's in Sustainable Energy System Management focuses on the design, analysis, and management of sustainable energy systems with a strong focus on the energy transition. You will learn to develop innovative and feasible business cases and projects that integrate technological, economic, legal, social, and environmental aspects. The program provides a solid foundation in energy context, technology, markets, finance, law, modeling, and strategic decision-making, enabling you to address complex issues from an interdisciplinary perspective.
Form of the training (program)
The Master's program is a full-time, three-semester program worth 90 ECTS and is taught entirely in English. Semester 1 focuses on core subjects such as energy context, technology, models, and business knowledge and is offered in collaboration with partner universities (e.g., the Technical University of the Shannon in Ireland). Semester 2 offers specializations such as System Innovation Management, Sustainable Energy and ICT, or Sustainable Energy Management in collaboration with other universities across Europe. Semester 3 is a final thesis project in which you conduct in-depth research at a company or knowledge institution. You will study and present your research results to a EUREC committee in Brussels.
Practical information
The master's program starts annually in September and requires full commitment throughout the entire program (90 ECTS). You'll be part of an international learning community and work on projects for real clients. The program is affiliated with EUREC, a European network of energy master's programs, which offers additional international opportunities and a strong alumni network. You'll study in at least two different European countries during the specialization rounds. The program prepares you for management and advisory roles in the energy transition and offers excellent prospects in the international energy and sustainability sectors.
