Electrical installation engineer

As an electrical installation engineer, you install cables, pipes, and wiring for lighting and power systems, among other things. You maintain, repair, and configure these systems. You'll also increasingly encounter new technologies like solar panels and home automation in your work.

Description

Content of the training

You'll learn all about electricity and electrical engineering. You'll also learn to read and create drawings of basic circuits. You'll practice installing various switching and distribution circuits, as well as data communication systems. It's important that you can work neatly and safely, so that's also covered.

At the end of the training you will be a true professional.

  • Professional knowledge (distribution system, residential utilities, controls and data communication)
  • Practice 

General subjects
In this vocational training course you also have general subjects: Dutch, arithmetic, citizenship and sports.
 

Elective courses
During your studies you can choose a number of subjects yourself. These are optional partsWith electives, you can further deepen or broaden your knowledge and skills. This means you can design a portion of your program yourself.

Practical information

Part of your program consists of an internship. You'll apply the knowledge and skills you've acquired at school in practice at an accredited training company. This is called vocational training (BPV).

During your internship, you'll receive guidance from someone at the training company where you're interning, as well as your internship supervisor from your program. You can contact them with any questions you may have. You'll also regularly discuss your internship progress.

Throughout the entire program, you'll spend two days a week on an internship at an installation company.
