Content of the training

During this training you will learn: 

• the basic skills of refrigeration, installation and electrical engineering
• communicating with professionals and clients  
• all about F-gases

• Professional theory from installation, electrical and refrigeration technology
• Preparing climate systems
• Mounting and connecting climate and electrical components
• Maintaining a work report and logbook
• Installing and insulating climate control piping systems
• Connecting and mounting electrical components

Elective courses 
During your studies, you'll take electives to broaden or deepen your knowledge. You're free to choose these subjects yourself. You decide what you enjoy or find interesting, or important for your future.  

In this course you can choose from the following electives: 

• Sustainability in the profession C
• Application of natural refrigerants in practice 

The selection may vary. Your study advisor can help you make your choice.

Form of the training (program)

You'll be taking this course through the vocational training program (BBL). You'll work at least 20 hours per week and attend school one day a week. You'll have arranged your own placement with an accredited training company before starting this course. This means you're already employed.

Practical information

For this course you need at least one of the following diplomas or certificates: 

• vmbo diploma basic vocational, intermediate vocational, mixed or theoretical learning pathway
• transition certificate from year 3 to year 4 of pre-university secondary education (havo) or pre-university education (vwo)
• MBO diploma level 1 (Entry-level training)
