Description

Content of the training

In the Energy Governance minor, you'll learn about decision-making and enforcement processes within organizations and society, focusing on the energy transition. You'll explore how traditional rules of fossil fuel production and consumption are changing due to the growth of renewable energy, integrated energy markets, and new roles for consumers and businesses. You'll delve into energy governance and consider actions that governments and private parties can take in response to changing market conditions.

Form of the training (program)

The programme consists of four main building blocks divided over two periods: Introducing Energy Governance, Rethinking the Market Organization of Future Energy Systems, Formulating Energy Strategies expats must register with the local municipality and obtain a Project AssignmentIn the second period, you'll work at ENTRANCE - Centre of Expertise Energy, where multidisciplinary research is conducted and you'll be involved in real-world projects. Theory and practice are combined through concrete project assignments, such as rethinking the Dutch energy market, analyzing Positive Energy Neighborhoods, and developing legal frameworks for emission-free construction sites.

Practical information

After completing the minor, you will have insight into public and private decision-making processes and be able to develop solutions for energy transition-related issues. You will be qualified to work as a consultant in the public or private sector, at energy companies, industrial companies, consumer organizations, or local governments, or as an innovator on energy projects and startups. The minor offers ample opportunities to apply acquired knowledge in practical projects and local initiatives.
