Environmental manager
Description
As an environmental manager, you ensure that technical plans and the interests of the local community come together. You work on infrastructure projects in road and hydraulic engineering, energy, and area development, from planning to realization. You are given the opportunity to further develop your skills in strategic environmental management, participation, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Job requirements
- Completed higher vocational or university education.
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience as a strategic environmental manager.
- Entrepreneurial, results-oriented, and collaborative.
- Preferably knowledge of participation processes, the Environment and Planning Act, the design process, systems engineering (including customer requirements specification), and contract forms.
- Knowledge of and experience with digitalization and AI.
- Proficient in the Dutch language, spoken and written (minimum C1).
Tasks
- Give substance to environmental management at the strategic, tactical, and operational levels.
- Identify stakeholders, interests, wishes, and requirements, and monitor their relationship to project objectives.
- Take into account political and administrative decision-making and daily events in the project environment.
- Act as the point of contact for stakeholders and work closely with the project team.
- Listen, analyze, advise, and connect stakeholders to create support and ensure progress.
- Gather customer wishes and requirements and translate them into usable project and contract information.
- Discuss consequences for planning, design, and execution, and guide participation processes.
- Manage expectations when there are conflicts between environmental requirements and technical, contractual, or organizational constraints.
- Work together with stakeholders to find workable routes forward so that support and progress reinforce each other.
- Apply knowledge of the Environment and Planning Act, design processes, systems engineering, and contract forms where necessary.
