Apprenticeship program towards electrician with practical and theoretical days.
Main tasks: maintenance, troubleshooting, replacing and modifying distribution cabinets and substations.
Requirements: VMBO or electrical specialization, willingness to pursue MBO-3 education, driver's license B and Dutch B2.
Description
You will follow a practice-oriented work-study program and learn the electrical engineering trade, working at the foundation of the energy transition. You will work at many different locations in the region and often start from home, while affiliated with the Kolham/Groningen branch. The Realization department consists of fitters, technicians, and site supervisors; trust, flexibility, and craftsmanship are core values.
Job requirements
- Vmbo diploma (theoretical, mixed or intermediate vocational education) or a specialisation in electrical engineering.
- Willingness to follow a practical MBO-3 training to become an electrician.
- Previous experience in electrical engineering through education and/or work is required.
- Proficiency with computers.
- In possession of driving license B.
- Living in the Groningen region (preferably Leek and surroundings) due to emergency services.
- Good command of the Dutch language, minimum B2 level.
Tasks
- Completing the training steps towards becoming an electrical or gas technician.
- Shadowing an experienced technician and performing practical work on projects.
- Writing school reports and participating in exam and safety training.
- Performing maintenance work on installations and distribution cabinets.
- Troubleshooting and resolving malfunctions together with colleagues, including during on-call duties.
- Ensuring timely maintenance of the company van and scheduling the MOT.
- Replacing or converting distribution cabinets and complete distribution stations.
- Inspecting stations and recording transformer loads.
Working conditions
- Paid MBO-3 course with 2 days of theory and practice, and 3 days working alongside an experienced mechanic.
- Official diploma and job guarantee upon completion of the training; work experience day possible.
- From day one, your own company van equipped with tools, and a laptop and phone for business and private use.
- Good tools and work clothing provided.
- 8% holiday allowance on the gross annual salary.
- Contribution of 70% to the ABP Choice Pension.
- Compensation of €455 gross per on-call and breakdown shift and extra payment for hours worked during breakdowns, plus accrual of additional leave days.
- Outpatient allowance of €80 gross per month and an annual vitality budget of €700.
- Career and vocational training through the vocational school to stay up to date in technology and safety.
- The application process includes an initial interview and often a shadowing day; screening includes verification of diplomas, an assessment, and requesting a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG).
