Contracting Category Lead
Description
Strategic key position within the central Procurement & Supply Chain unit, Contracting department. The Contracting Category Lead connects strategy, operations, and change and reports to the Manager Contracting Categories. You contribute directly to ensuring the security of supply and to the realization of the energy transition.
Job requirements
Minimum HBO+/WO working and thinking level, acquired through education and/or relevant work experience. Extensive experience in procurement and contract management, preferably within the energy or infrastructure sector, including several years in a senior or strategic role. Comfortable in a complex and dynamic environment and skilled in switching between strategy, operations, and stakeholder management. Strong analytical skills and capable of quickly understanding complex issues and translating them into clear solutions and concrete improvement initiatives. Connecting, reliable, and organizationally sensitive; able to build support within teams and stakeholder groups. Combines strategic insight with accuracy and professionalism. Strong communication skills with excellent command of spoken and written Dutch. Willingness to work in a hybrid model from Groningen and other Gasunie locations in the Netherlands.
Tasks
You guide the further professionalization of category and contract management within Gasunie. You develop strategic and tactical plans for a single category and drive maximum value creation for various business lines. You collaborate closely with contract owners, project managers, Procurement Leads, contract managers, buyers, legal experts, and business developers. You move easily between strategy and operations and translate complex issues into workable solutions and sustainable results. You translate organizational objectives into concrete and measurable team objectives and analyze performance, risks, and expenditures to realize targeted improvement initiatives. You make a direct contribution to strategic objectives and the further development of the organization. You work on complex and socially relevant projects such as Porthos, Aramis, WarmtelinQ, and Waterstof Netwerk Nederland. You play a key role in change processes, create support for new working methods, encourage collaboration, and actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. You report within an organizational unit with approximately 140 professionals spread across five departments.
