This master's thesis position focuses on researching billing, metering, and cost/collaboration models for federated clouds. The role involves surveying the state of the art, extracting requirements from real-world use cases, and designing and prototyping mechanisms that function across multiple providers. Results are expected to be presented in a clear thesis and, where possible, reusable artifacts that advance an open cloud ecosystem.

- Enrolled as a Master's-level student in cloud computing, computer science, or a related field.
- Strong enthusiasm for cloud technologies and modern cloud architectures.
- Motivation to support European digital sovereignty and open cloud ecosystems.
- Able to work independently, structure research, and drive progress proactively.
- Interest in interoperability, portability, and open standards within multi-cloud environments.
- For this vacancy, a security clearance (VGB) issued after an AIVD security screening is required; this process can take about eight weeks and may take longer if you have been abroad for more than six consecutive months or if you do not hold Dutch nationality.

Werkomstandigheden
- Full-time position (40 hours per week).
- Suitable internship allowance of €615 for a full-time internship.
- Possibility of eight hours of free leave per internship month for full-time interns.
