Instrumentation Engineer

Start in Instrumentation for about one year, with a planned growth into Controls Engineering. The role links process, instrumentation and automation, translating process design into a control philosophy and defining safe, efficient operational sequences.

• BSc or MSc in Chemical, Mechanical, Process engineering or a similar discipline.
• 2–5 years' experience in process, instrumentation or controls.
• Strong process understanding; emphasis on system understanding and control philosophy rather than PLC programming.
• Experience in multidisciplinary engineering projects.
• Knowledge of measurement and control principles.
• Basic DCS knowledge (PCS7 / T3000 is a plus).
• Good understanding of fluid flow and heat transfer.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Fluent in English.
• No highly skilled migrant sponsorship available.

• Select and specify instrumentation for complex installations.
• Prepare and maintain instrument lists, technical datasheets and equipment specifications, including temperature element assemblies, flow measurement devices, local instruments and instrument hook-ups.
• Work on instrumentation for package units (e.g. burners, SCR systems).
• Ensure correct technical interfaces between disciplines and coordinate closely with process, mechanical, electrical and supply teams.
• Define how the installation should operate safely and efficiently, including creating system descriptions (control narratives) and functional control diagrams.
• Define start-up, shutdown and operational sequences.
• Contribute to HAZOP and SIL studies.
• Work on control scope for systems such as BMS and support FATs and site-related control activities.
• Translate functional requirements into clear input for external PLC/DCS parties and act as the link between process, instrumentation and automation.
