Tenure-track Assistant Professor (research profile) in Intelligent Software Systems. Research may cover distributed systems, visualization/computer graphics, artificial intelligence and machine learning, ranging from theory and algorithm design to scalable systems and innovative visualization or interaction methods. The position supports an interdisciplinary approach to modern, data-intensive computing challenges. Typical workload distribution for this profile is approximately 60% research, 30% teaching and 10% organizational duties.
Functie eisen
- PhD in computer science or a related field.
- At least two years of postdoctoral experience, preferably in a different country than where the PhD was obtained (this can be compensated after appointment via extended research visits abroad).
- Strong international research network.
- Excellent research track record demonstrated by publications in international peer-reviewed journals and top conference proceedings.
- A demonstrable teaching record appropriate to career stage.
- Demonstrable organizational competences.
- Cross-cultural awareness and contribution to a collaborative, inclusive work environment.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
- Ability to acquire substantial external research grants.
- Willingness to obtain a University Teaching Qualification (BKO) within three years.
- Able or motivated to learn Dutch within five years.

Full-time tenure-track position with career development opportunities within the faculty's Career Paths in Science and Engineering. The career system includes the possibility of a permanent appointment (tenure) after approximately 1–3 years and potential progression to Full Professor in about ten years. The faculty supports interdisciplinary collaboration with industry, government and societal partners.
