Omschrijving
Two-year postdoctoral researcher position in polymer synthesis at the University of Groningen within the Horizon Europe Pathfinder project SUSHI-PACK, hosted in the smart and sustainable polymeric product group under the supervision of Prof. Patrizio Raffa. The role focuses on the design, synthesis and characterization of bio-based polymers and polymer networks derived from regenerated waste oils and seaweed-based feedstocks for smart packaging applications. The group is part of the chemical product technology research unit within the ENTEG Institute.
Functie eisen
- PhD in Polymer Science, Organic Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
- Hands-on laboratory experience in polymer and/or organic synthesis.
- Experience with standard polymer characterization techniques such as NMR, GPC, DSC and TGA.
- Previous experience with polycondensation chemistry is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and confidently in a polymer chemistry laboratory.
- Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, creativity and initiative.
- Excellent written and spoken English (proof of proficiency may be requested).
- Curious mindset with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and enjoyment of collaborative international research environments.
