Temporary teaching-only Lecturer in Public International Law for the 2026-27 academic year.
Teach seminars in the LLB International and European Law programme and possibly LLM courses.
Requires a strong background in Public International Law, preferably a PhD or near completion.

Temporary, teaching-only Lecturer(s) in International Law to reinforce teaching in the LLB programme on International and European Law, with possible involvement in relevant LLM programmes. Appointments are strictly temporary for the 2026-27 academic year, with teaching expected to start in or soon after September 2026.
Functie eisen
- Strong background in Public International Law, preferably holding a PhD or near completion of a PhD in this or a related field.
- Appropriate skills and knowledge to teach Public International Law to undergraduate and postgraduate law students.
- Experience teaching or supervising students and an inspired, engaging teaching style.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English.
- Team player with good communication skills and strong organisational skills, committed to meeting deadlines.
- Able to work in an international, diverse environment.
Taken
- Teach mainly in the LLB programme on International and European Law, primarily as seminars/tutorials on topics related to public international law.
- Possible teaching in LLM programmes on Public International Law and International Human Rights Law, depending on expertise and performance.
- Deliver seminars and tutorials in line with the course guide and course coordinators' instructions.
- Guide students and provide feedback, including grading assignments, theses and/or exams.
- Coordinate practical course matters with course convenors and carry out other tasks assigned by them.
- Be embedded in the Department of Transboundary Legal Studies (TLS) of the Faculty of Law.
Werkomstandigheden
- 232 vacation hours per year (based on a 38-hour workweek, 1.0 FTE).
